Awwwww, kitties!
Will someone break a window? The irony is choking me.
You’re correct, Fenris that was bad form on my part. My apologies for being overzealous.
On a more upbeat note, I’m still laughing about that Pork BBQ thread of yours.
Bump!
Things that piss me off:
People that don’t know how to use a turn signal.
People that don’t know what merging is.
People who drive in the fast lane when people in the slow lane are passing them up.
People who take magazine from a office without asking.
People who stare
People that don’t let people have there own opinion.
People who think they are so enlightened.
People who look into things more than it needs to be looked into.
People who think they are smarter than God.
People who have no logic.
People who think they are better than the next person.
Meaningless parades that block traffic.
People who don’t watch their children.
People who let their children control them.
People who only find faults with Christianity but all other religions are ok A OK.
Done for now.
Yes but invoves begging heathen computer geeks for insight not relayed to them by God but from the great computer guru we all call Manual and his great scriptures (although the RCC offically denies their existence) occasionally known as FAQ’s
Excuse me, Mr Pot? The Kettle is on line 2 for you…
Bad enough you rip an intellectual black hole for an OP from which a logical thought cannot escape and then you have the audacity to blame others for complying with your narrow minded viewpoint. :smack:
If your brain were rolling down the edge of a razor blade it would look like a BB rolling down an eight lane highway.
I’m so glad to see you’ve set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public. We have all enjoyed the chuckles but if ignorance is bliss, you must be living in a state of perpetual orgasm. You have the people skills of a belt sander and you probably couldn’t get a clue during the clue mating season in a field full of horny clues if you smeared your body with clue musk and did the clue mating dance.
Oh, and since its the pit, fuck off cumdumpster.
Wow. did you get all your best stuff in the 3rd grade?
hardygrrl, one window might not cut it.
In the What’s your favorite resturant? thread in IMHO, WV_Woman says:
A quick search reveals that the only China House resturants listed in West Virginia are in gasp Huntington!
I’m not sure this situation can be mended.
Omigod**s[/], there isn’t a smilie for how much that made me laugh! Excellent; a shining example of the noble art of the put-down. <vigorous applause>
Christianity is the only religion that’s just begs to have its face rubbed against the asphalt. Can you say, “curb check”?
Oh come on, someone else has to be dying to do it!
Gee whiz, and no moderators with the ‘hate speech’ routine?
I don’t think you want to know my answer to that…
I apologize. Let me clarify, oh, ye with the pagan nick:
- I who condemn or attack me for not believing as they do, or who tell me all sorts of horrible things will happen to me because of that.
- I have yet to meet any Buddhists, Hindus, animists, pagans, Wiccans or Zoroastrians who have tried to bend my government into a mouthpiece for their religion.
- I have yet to meet any Buddhists, Hindus, animists, pagans, Wiccans or Zoroastrians who try to tell me how to live (converts to those religions being an exception, of course).
- No Buddhists, Hindus, animists, pagans, Wiccans or Zoroastrians have rung my doorbell or waited outside my community’s public schools in order to proselytize.
- No Buddhists, Hindus, animists, pagans, Wiccans or Zoroastrians, as far as I know, have disrupted funerals or put up webpages such as www.godhatesfags.com
- No Buddhists, Hindus, animists, pagans, Wiccans or Zoroastrians are as imbued with hatred and anger as Christians–IMHO and YMMV.

Squish, ALL religions have the curse of intolerance. Your analysis is too Euro-centric
Right now the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena are just two fundamentalist Hindu parties that are eroding India’s tradition of nonsectarian democracy and religious toleration. The BJP, for example, has orchestrated anti-Muslim demonstrations and was bhind the destrcution of the mosque in Ayodya that was razed by a crowd of fanatics in 1993. They are also suspected of fomenting the anti-Muslim hatred that caused the train massacre earlier this year. Moreover, Hinduism is based on religious, caste-based discrimination, including their historic ostracism of the dark-skinned Dalit (formerly known as Untouchables), who are born outside the caste system and are routinely abused and ground beneath the heel of Indian society.
Buddhism is also not free from corruption, as you can tell fromt he scandals that plagued the Buddhist hierarchy in Tang China and Kroyo Korea. Today in modern Thailand and Korea, there is corruption rampant in the Buddhist clergy. in Japan, the politicla wing of the Nichiren Buddhist sect, the Soka Gakkai, has been accused of political corruption and pushing its agenda on non-adherents.
Zoroastraians (modern-day Parsis) are based in Iran, and are a persecutied minority faith. They have no power to abuse.
I don’t have any dirt on the Jains, the Baha’i, or Sikhs, but I’m sure it’s out there.
Gobear, neither the Hindus nor the Buddhists are affecting my life. I do acknowledge inter-religist hostilities in other parts of the world–but they’re not on my doorstep or eroding my government. Yes, that is self-centered of me, but I’ll worry first about my own country and government, as those are the ones I have a responsibility towards and which affect me directly.
From an Americo-Euro-centric viewpoint, the chief opponents of intellectual freedom and oppressors of dissent have been Christians.
Big fucking bullshit.
Intellectual freedom? Apparently, you’ve never heard that most of our knowledge of ancient texts and writings came about because they were preserved by monks.
Nor have you ever heard of the great Christian thinkers.
Still, that’s not the whole truth. Consider that the leaders of the abolitionist movement pre-Civil War were Methodist and Congegationalist clergymen. Moreover, members of the Society of Friends (the Quakers) were active in organizing the Underground Railroad that conveyed runaway slaves to safety. Consider that the modern-day civil rights movement was led by ministers, chiefly the Reverend Martin Luther King. Consider, also that many minsters and priests, like the Berrigan brothers, were active in the protests against the Vietnam War in the 1960s. Consider, too, the many believing Christians on this board who espuse tolerance and diversity in public life.
Your view is too narrow and lacks historical perspective. I am a foe of all religion, yet, I also recognize that a complete blanket statement against all Christians isn’t helpful in discerning truth.
Intolerance and bigotry are the enemies of truth and compassion, not a specific religion. Sure, there is a great deal of hatred in this country inspired by some branches of Christianity, as in the recent unfortunate comments about Islam that were applauded at the Southern Baptist Convention.
You should realize that not all Christians are intolerant zealots, and that not all intolerant zealots are Christian.
Free thinking-what about Galileo and Sir Isaac Newton, just for starters?
