For Shack
Only a rat, but she was loved
just an animal but we still mourn
Misunderstood, yet one of God’s creatures
She still had the capacity to love.
to be loved
to give kisses
to snuggle
to give joy
to give heartbreak
to be well missed.

I remember the movie The Abyss, where one guy had a rat for a pet. He even risked his life to save it.
That is so sad. I went to school for veterinary assisting and we had two pet rats. I loved them.
