I work at a wholesale outlet. We sell overstocks and closeouts and even buy pallets of returns to go through.
Yesterday one of our regulars came in. The guy seems to think I’m his buddy or something and will strike up a conversation with me. He started in on politics and what a horrible job Obama is doing and Glenn Beck said this and isn’t it horrible about the ACORN corruption. I told him he really didn’t want to discuss politics with me and I needed to get back to work.
Today he comes back in to exchange and buy a 2nd electronic gadget. He almost braggs about the fact that he can buy ours at big discounts , buy new ones from a major retailer and then return the discounted ones to the retailer, thereby getting brand new items for our low price. I told him I didn’t want to hear that kind of thing. I’m a retailer as well so it’s not cool. Later when he checks out he can’t resist mentioning his master plan again. That’s when I hit him with “That sounds like something ACORN would do”
Well well, sputter,
The look on his face was pretty rewarding.
