A Long Way Home - OOC and comments, non-players welcome!

This thread is for players to make long out of character posts, or for non-players who want to comment on the game featured here.

Howdy folks!

Looks like things are rolling along quite well so far! Got a good idea of the story, personalities are worked out, and I daresay great things are afoot!

Not having done any roleplaying by post before, I’m not sure how to handle situations that require multiple options. So I tried spoiler boxes; is that how it works in these things? And I’m guessing Mosier does all the die rolling… or are we trusted with that? Not that I’d ever be anything but completely honest and accurate in reporting my results, of course.

Anyway, mostly just posting to bump this thread up for ya.

See y’all in Varuna!

Personally I’m just waiting for another character to resolve whether we stop or not before I post. Makes it easier.

I might be making the next update a bit earlier or later than expected, as my wife and I made dinner plans tonight. Either way it’ll be up before tomorrow morning.

I hope everyone’s ready to put on their asskickin’ shoes!

My brain is going all over the place with tenses, so I apologize if I jump around too much. I try to keep it consistent, but sometimes it still sounds weird. I guess I need to just pick one and stick with it.

Good idea. In fact, I wonder if we should have a set primary poster? Gerald Plankton (the Suburban Blake) seems to be the main character in this story… I would have no problem with making him the defacto leader in all things. In other words, he posts first and pretty much tells the rest of us what he wants us to do, then we post what we actually do, then we wait to see what happens, then he posts again and so on. It seems like this would speed things up a bit and keep the action moving forward, as well as reducing the confusion over what we’re gonna be doing and such.

Time Stranger: We may be Dopers but we’re not that hung up on proper grammar; you’re doing just fine, I think. I really like how you’re playing Tasha so far… reminds me of a Kender almost!

The rest of y’all are doing well too, we really have a good group dynamic going here.

Mosier, hope y’all’s dinner went well. Loving the story so far and how you’re integrating everything so well. Reaaalllyyy gotta wonder what’s going on tho!

I wouldn’t stress too hard over it - post whenever you think makes sense.

Dinner turned into dinner and a show. We got a bit of a late start, which is why I could post earlier than I thought.

Anyway, more in the morning. We’ll see if cobar can start unraveling the horse thief mystery.

Just a head’s up that I’m going out of town for Easter weekend to a land with no internet, so I will not be able to post until Sunday night.

No problem. Thanks for the heads up!

The first round of combat for this campaign has been resolved and posted in the game thread. I put the dice rolls and their explanations in spoiler tags. If anyone has any questions about how combat was resolved, feel free to ask in this thread.

Spammer in players only thread reported.

Thanks! I reported it too. Also I’d suggest not clicking the link, just to be safe.

The link led to a site to buy sheet music; I’m not entirely sure it was spam, looked like a mispost, but it was certainly a commercial website.

Re: the game
Wow, this is a blast! Granted, it can slow down a bit at times, but when it’s going it goes gangbusters! This last combat was exciting, even if my guy didn’t turn out very helpful. I dunno about anyone else, but I’m having fun. And more than a little confused as to what, exactly, is going on… but I love a good mystery!

Anybody heard from Time Stranger lately? This battle reminds me why we need a good healer in the group; I’ve only got so many luck points, guys, stop getting killed please!

Mosier, got a question about that goblin; gonna send ya a PM, ok?

Rest of y’all, see ya on the flip side!

    • Phnord, aka Moftar

I’m gonna take that as a ‘no’.

I sent her an e-mail about a week ago; no response. I fear something may have happened to her. :frowning:

Medic!

:frowning:

Eh, quit yer whinin’; You’ve only been dying for four days!

I knew we shoulda’ killed that goblin when we had the chance!

Sorry for the lack of updates today. I had a 9 hour long tabletop games marathon with some friends and lost track of time. I’ll be updating the game thread before tomorrow evening. See you there!

BTW, if you haven’t played Quarriors yet, you should.

Dunh Dunh DUNNNNH!

The goblin’s back and there’s gonna be trouble…

But this post is to ask about Dwarves. So, the caves were dwarven relics from ages ago. The book from the chest is an ancient dwarven tome.

Are dwarves extinct? Is that why nobody can read their language? If not, what are the odds we’ll find one in the next town?
