Guided By Voices, over 14 albums, have released some of the most catchy, clever, and all around wonderful music ever recorded. They’ve comforted me during the lows, and rocked out with me during the high times. Through lineup changes, a few sub-par efforts, and a lack of huge commercial success, they can still put out an awesome album.
So, I was devastated when, this morning, I found out that they were planning to split after their next album was released, and after a final tour.
Instinctively, I grabbed my copy of Bee Thousand, and skipped to track 18. And as the final words of the song left my speakers, I realised that although their was reason to be sad, Guided By Voices have also left the world hours upon hours of timeless music - music that can guarantee that I will keep and listen to until I’m old and ancient.

Everything fades from sight,
Because that’s alright with me.
