So it doesn’t bother you that someone can do evil in this world but still go to heaven because they accept Christ as their savior?
Well, that is one group’s interpretation. Can you explain why this interpretation is to be favoured over the Jewish interpretation of the events of 2000 years ago?
And how do you know those are your god’s words?
Well, I think because he told Mohammed, blessed be his name, that the New Testament was holy too. So there must be some truthyness to it.
Guess He realised the New Testament was rather vague though, so he wrote yet another book. This time dictating it himself. And it’s the definite final version.
The Koran says so itself; Mohammed is the last prophet.
So unless he decides to publish a new book, actually handwritten by Him, I guess we should go with the final version and all convert to Islam.
Just to be safe, you know, when you face Allah when you die.
Joseph Smith would like to have a word with you.
He talks to you too?!?!
Well, not any more, obviously.
Jesus shot em all up with his gat.
If it needed to get any weirder… I know people who include J.R.R. Tolkien’s Elbereth in their religious rituals and invocations.
I thought he did already come back, visited some Native Americans, and left some golden tablets or something for the Mormons. Then he like, beat up Santa Claus in a boxing ring or something.
Red ink?
Meh, all this will be resolved by the Coming of the Great White Handkerchief …
All hail the Great Green Arkleseziure
A-Choo!
Mehh, the Great White Handkerchief is only the harbinger of His Noodliness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And he’s handy for wiping up the tomato sauce that the FSM tends to drip all over the place.
Walking in faith is great code for not thinking for yourself or being rational.
Now we’re getting somewhere. The Jews are not right. Who else is not right? Buddhists? Islamists? Hindus? Sikhs? Jainists? Neo-Pagans? Scientologists? Rastafarians?
Don’t you have to know a little about each religion, to know whether they’re right or wrong? And what about Christians? There are many sects of Christianity that contradict other sects. Is there only one true flavor of Christianity, and all the other are wrong?
How do you know you picked the right one?
And if there’s a heaven, what if only atheists are admitted?
No, there’s a lot about your religion you don’t know. You don’t think it’s important to know what happens to people who never hear about Jesus? Do you think you are a good witness if someone asks you about that and you don’t have the slightest clue? Having faith doesn’t mean you shouldn’t learn the basics of your theology.
One can only believe that it is God’s words, It in fact can be proven it was the writings or teachings of some other human. You believe the human who wrote that it was God, There is a big difference between belief and fact!
When one quotes the Bible or any writing it is the work and words of another human.
Hey jesusguy- I have a serious question.
Is this the most frustrating bunch of smartass heathens you’ve ever interacted with?
For an interesting discussion of miracles, see this thread.
So jesusguy I’m still waiting on an answer to this:
How’s my answer coming along?
Just to put the OP at ease, know that I am already perfect, and there’s nothing that could be improved. So much so that I expect the Big Man will want to use me as a consultant.
Would we have been better off if we had never been informed at all?
