A milder pit. Jimmy John's can go to hell.

:smack:

Perhaps next time someone could just draw me a big diagram of a boat with the word “Titanic” scrawled on the side approaching a large, round head of lettuce, captioned in large letters with, “IT’S A JOKE YOU FUCKING RETARD.”

Eh, it was just a throwaway anyway. They can’t all be gems.

I dunno, I found it pretty epic and side splitting myself…

What? Lies, lies!

The taste of Nebraska is stuff like runzas. Or those fried grilled cheese sandwiches that King’s used to have. And cheap beef, and fresh corn.

All fatty and unhealthy, but tasty.

Jimmy John’s was supposed to have been inspired by a Chicago restaurant – so blame it on Illinois. And, hey!, wiki says their HQ is in Champaign IL, not NE.

(… good grief, JJ’s has the gall to put “Gourmet Sandwiches” on their logo?)

I didn’t see it until it was right in my face, but once it struck me, it left a lasting impression.

Still waiting for the story about being 86-ed from a deli…

I was going to say, Jimmy John’s definitely started in Illinois. I thought it was Champaign, but it apparently was Charleston. The Wikipedia article says he was inspired by Portillo’s. As much as I’ve defended JJ’s in this thread, Portillo’s is orders of magnitude better than JJ’s. Plus, they have pretty much nothing in common, other than they are both fast-food chains.

Jimmy Johns is a business. it has a business plan, if functions the way it does, because their business plan say so. So to touch on some of the complaints, here is why you should only be saying your opinion if you know what you are talking about.

the first post, all the same sandwiches, bland, doey bread, to much mayo.
-if you want a bunch of bread, have them take it out like they do with the first 6 sandwiches.
-if you dont want mayo, ask for without mayo.
-bland flavor, im not sure about you, but nothing about dijon is bland, but you could see that on the menu. its not like your illiterate.

for all those comparing to subway and quiznos and all other sandwich shops, jimmy johns was made with the knowledge of how shitty those places are. everybody fighting for subway and quiznos forgot to mention waiting in line for 30 minutes and there is only 2-3 people in front of me.

jimmy johns has limited items because they are suppose to be fast, if you want someone to hold your hand while they walk you through your sandwich, ask the subway girl.

if you know what you want, how it is suppose to taste, and are able to open your mouth and ask for what you want then you might find a better liking to jimmy johns. If not keep your words to “i would like the #2 because im too lazy to read what it actually is in a combo meal.”

thanks for learning

I would never call you stupid, ItsYouStupid, but you are posting to a thread that was last active in November 2010.

I still haven’t made it to that Algonquin sub shop.

It’s not like his what is illiterate?

Ah…

Oh, I just got it.

Stop eating at Jimmy John’s.

Moron.

Yeah, I would like to thank ItsYouStupid for raising this zombie and allowing me to see Vinyl Turnip’s awesome post, and for providing the never-gets-old pleasure of being lambasted for stupidity by someone who can’t compose a coherent sentence.

I don’t care for the ‘we don’t serve hippies’ sign in the lobby, that’s not as cute as you think, Jim.

If you want edto pit the place you should have started with the CEO’s safari excursions.

You’re right, your post does indeed communicate that.

“Doey bread” indeed! Like I want venison in my bread.

Man, I’m glad this was in the The Pit. Such vitriol.

We’re STILL waiting, 5 years later…

Please tell me that one of your sandwiches isn’t the “Off The Bridge”; the if/then function of your business plan might make the headlines.

Yes, but please understand our point of view. We’re pointing, waving, and trying to tell you that You’re Going The Wrong Way…!

He didn’t want to post with his mouth full? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, if it adds flavor…

New sauces! Vitriol… and coming soon: Agida!

In the spirit of being helpful, could we use what it says on his profile instead?

ItsYouStupid has not made any friends yet” :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve never had Jimmy John’s, so I don’t know. However, upthread people were mentioning “go-to” places in Chicago. If you find yourself in the south suburbs, be sure to check out Rubino’s. You will be glad you did. Really.
