For whatever reson, I recently noticed that the movies The Royal Tannenbaums and Behind Enemy Lines were both in theatrical release at the same time. What was unusual was that both movies featured Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson. Has there ever been any other pair of movies, otherwise unrelated, that featured the same actors and were both in theatres at the same time?
Were Forrest Gump and Apollo 13 in theaters at the same time, or is my memory fuzzy? Both starred Tom Hanks (and Gary Sinise).
I remember Forrest Gump coming out in the summer of 1994 and Apollo 13 coming out the next year but I don’t remember the season. I don’t think it was one of those “let’s release it in NY and Hollywood in December so it qualifies for Oscars” movies. There may have been leftover Gump showings depending on when Apollo came out. I know they re-released it after the Oscars.
