This is neither Pointless nor Mundane. MSNBC.com announced that Jerry Thacker will be an advisor on the Presidential Advisory Commission on HIV and AIDS. http://www.msnbc.com/news/862509.asp?0cv=NB10
I cannot imagine a less likely candidate for the job. The Presidential elections can’t come soon enough.
Ah yes, Mr “Gay Plague” himself. Maybe he’ll just “cure” all the homosexuals out there.
Aside from the fact that the guy is a jerk, what would possess Bush to align himself with him. He’s already losing a heap of voters with his Affirmative Action blunder. Is he dense? (Does a bear shit in the woods?)
This and having the use of contraceptions being censored out of sex education will only increase the death toll and cause for the spread of STD’s to rise. I used to believe that my opinion of this man couldn’t be lowered. How wrong I was.
sniffs with pride Isn’t it great that america is becomming such a better country after the evils of the Clinton years?
Seriously thought, there should be some sort of goddamned standardized test to be president.
I especially like this bit from the article: "Thacker has described homosexuality as a “deathstyle” rather than a lifestyle and asserted that ‘Christ can rescue the homosexual.’ "
Deathstyle, now that’s the kind of positive thinking an advisor should have.
I can’t imagine how the other members of the panel will contain themselves. And this dude HAS AIDS! Thank og he didn’t catch it “the bad way”.
Bush has given up any real hope of re-election.
He is now in kamakazi mode—as committed to his lunatic political self-destruction as the 9/11 hijackers were in their suicide.
Thacker has withdrawn his name from consideration, according to The Advocate.
I wonder what made him back down. It still makes Bush look like a schmuck, but at least his schmuckdom (is that a word?) isn’t trickling down in the form of THAT loser.

I love how the White House press corps has become such a bunch of weenies (Helen Thomas excepted) that they can’t even ask the obvious question of “Well, then, Ari, why was he nominated?” I mean, if the president’s views are so diametrically opposed and all…
No shit. Do they actually believe anyone is swallowing that tripe? Is the president so inept that he didn’t even read the guy’s resume? Ari can blow us.
Actually, millions of Americans are. Ari can say almost anything and the spoon-fed press corps will print/broadcast it without any challenge. Simpering toadies…
