A new standard for lameness in the Pit- Tarantula, who, and that

Please stop being so cruel and address me by my name so I can properly gloat when I search for my name.

They have lions in Asia, don’t they? If so, I don’t see your complaint. :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought the Romanes killed off all the lions in Asia by importing them to be slaughtered in their arenas.

By bunnies.

True, Neurotik, but some lions managed to get away thanks to some harey escapes.

Oh, God, I realized that. Honestly, I do have a sense of humor. Somewhere.

Okay, admittedly I do not write my posts here-- even those about grammar-- with the same diligence with which I would apply to a research paper. I’m gonna get slammed by Gaudere’s Law no matter what, so why stress? However (HA!), I didn’t purposely split a compound sentence. I wanted to separate the two thoughts for clarity’s sake, and I’m a big believer in transitional phrases. This usage note (yeah, whatever’s that worth) mentions the…controversy over using “however” as an introductory element.

I wonder if it would have read better had I “complexed” it. While you used “that” in a matter that would win the approval of any English teacher, you used a superflulous comma after “whites.” I don’t know about that because I feel that the main points in one’s writing have more punch when given in simple sentences.

But what do I know? After all, I am…

I may use that as a sig.
