I would like to “HOPE” that a new world would come quick. Our Jails and Prisons are
getting overcrowded. I would like to see America, like its Singapore and how they treat prisoners. Its called corporal punishment. They cane peoples bottoms. There economy isn’t so bad, and I agree no matter what age you are, if you can do the crime you can do the time. I think (depending on the offense) that there should be a point system in play for how many times a person is caned on the buttocks, male or female, ages 13 and older. For stealing, it should be 2 swats per buttock. If you are caught doing graffitti or damage property, it should be 3 swats per buttock. It would save tax payers money that way, and give the suspect a stinging bottom, to where they wish they never did a bad thing again. Robert Heinlein proposed something like that in (I believe) Starship Troopers. He said that you can get over a year in jail, but you never, ever, get over the pain and shame of a public whipping.
The fact that modern militaries have given up the use of flogging for offenses does not seem to have diminished their capability to win battles.
misspawdle, you seem to have a odd fixation on people getting caned on their bottoms. You’re talking about bare bottoms to give it that extra oomph of shame, right? You could have a nice sideline of this, but how do you look in black leather?
Also, you talk as if the Second Coming will reduce our prison population. Will a bunch of the prisoners get Raptured out? Because I’m pretty sure that’s not how the Rapture works.

And make money, if the state sells the privilege of doing the caning. Several certain kinds of persons would pay a lot.
They have worse problems than getting caned.

I’m not coming up with any really good examples, but the battle of Shiloh, in the American Civil War, comes somewhat to mind. May the good Lord spare us ever winning another such battle as that!
