A nice surprise in my e-mail in-box (Spiders involved! Big Hairy Ones!!)

Gotcha!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, quit throwing stuff!!!
Sheesh.

As some of you may know, I’m applying to several radiology programs. I did the same thing last year, but I was rejected by all of them.

Well, not exactly true.

Last year (2002)I applied to Holy Cross Hospital’s program in Silver Spring, MD, and went down and took a test and did an interview and took a tour of the facilities. At the time (and currently) I was living in Maine. Holy Cross’s policy was to accept applicants who lived in Maryland first, then look at out of state applicants, which meant that I got a letter stating that I was an alternate, which meant that if someone who had been accepted at Holy Cross chose not to go there I was next in line. Apparently I asked the woman in charge if she could carry my application over to the next year (2003). She said that she would. (I have to stress that I remember none of this.)

So, last Friday I open my e-mail and there is an e-mail from the head of the radiology program at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring Maryland, asking if I would be interested in setting up an interview.

My immediate and instantaneous reaction: WHA??? and I fell off my chair.

OK, I did the Wha??? bit, but the falling out of the chair bit was just bullshit.

So, after showing Servant’s dad the e-mail, I sent her one, in which I asked “What the hell is going on??!!!

But I said it in a very nice and polite way, trust me.

Honest and true I was polite as can be.

She e-mailed back, explaing the situation and asked if I’d like her to mail me a schedule of dates and times for the interviews.

To which I replied, “OH MY, YES.”

So now I just have to wait for the sacred letter to arrive.

Now, while we’re waiting, who wants pie?

With or without ice cream?

Hey, congratulations!

And, of course, good luck.

No spiders? What a let-down.
