Wow. That’s now one of my favorite optical illusions.
It’s interesting to pay attention to which dots disappear; at first I could only see the dots on the bottom, and with each rotation one dot on each side disappeared. At one point, all of the dots disappeared but as the “green” dot rotated around, they came back again, one at a time, like they were being erased and then redrawn.
Spooky. I’m going to show this to all my friends!

This is the kind of thing that keeps me off of drugs. 
These illusions demonstrate that our brain has bugs, or perhaps design flaws. Maybe the next version will some of these kinks worked out.
How the fuck does that work??
I believe it’s due to persistence of vision. For me, the dots fade until and unless I blink, in which case they “reappear”. Nifty.

Not all the pink dots disappeared for me, but I did get a nifty illusion where a pink dot was “chasing” the green dot around the circle. I think I looked away too soon.

Two days later, and I still see the effect (it’s jut very vague).

The after images go away. But still the illusion persists. Quite odd.
Truth be told, I’m not even sure what that is.
