does anyone have their album? what do you think of it?
i am listening to it right now.
it is quite good.
if you’re expecting tool, don’t.
I only have the “Judith” MP3 so far. Not completely un-Tool, but I’m told the rest is more melodic.
Side projects are great if it’s when a musician has some material that does not fit into what his or her band usually does.
This sounds like Tool.
Why did Maynard do this?
Cop-out asshole…
do you really think it sounds that much like tool, satan?
when i bought it, i figured it would be just like tool. didn’t bother me, considering it’s been a while since aenima.
but when i listened to it i was surprised.
while there are toolisms you can’t escape with maynard singing, i think a perfect circle is something on its own.
i really don’t mind similar-sounding side projects when it’s been a while since a release.
I’d heard “Judith” (got the mp3 on the recommendation of a friend who knows I like Tool, actually), and thought it was all right. I heard another one in the car today, but they didn’t read-back the title so I have no idea what it was. It kicked much bootay, though. I’ll be picking up the album.
i am not a tool fan (simply cuz i never bothered to listen to em much), but the first time i heard a perfect circle was when they were opening for nin in montreal. i thought they put on a good show, and so decided to buy the album. i have been listening to it non-stop since it came out! it is definitely one of the best cds i’ve bought in a long time! 3 libras and brena are absolutely amazing! very good buy…i recommend it
now that the album has been out for a while…
do any of you still think it sounds like tool?
if so, i really don’t think you are paying attention.
i would say that judith is the closest-to-tool sounding song on that album, but even it has a quality that is definitely untool.
is judith what you were basing your opinion on? oh well. i don’t get it.
