no worries mrblue; not only am i unwilling to actually partake in such activities, it’s damn hard to find a good chef that’ll cook Nazi these days… silly blood-fearing culture…
MC - thanks for lightening that one
[hijack] I tried to answer your e-mail earlier, and the system at work crashed right in the middle of my reply. Then they gave me a whole bunch of stuff at work. I’m really down on a lot of things, my stupid job being just one. [/hijack]
Ah, you’d think us computer people could at LEAST keep the email system up, huh? That happened to me once when I was emailing you. Typed in a long reply then before I could send, the system went down and I lost it…sigh…
Why am I not writing you NOW, you ask? Because the damned system is down again! (I tried e-mailing the sex goddess of the SDMB…oh, all right, the person who started this thread, and I saw that the e-mail’s in limbo.)
At least the internet is up.
[sub]I hope[/sub]
Rhonda, can you send me an address where I can send you a Christmas card? (I’ll get it whenever the #@@# system comes back up…)
Lightening it? That was downright chipper. Now, if don’t mind me chewing your ear a bit, I could tell you a few stories that would make your blood boil…
Are you familiar with the disease Kuru in New Guinea, the siege of Leningrad, the Donner party, and the wreck of the whaleship Essex?
Sorry there, calc exam, packing to come home, no clue what to say next, it all piles up…
So, how’s life? I just had the second pretty damn cool surprise (crap, I have to stop swearing again when I go home…) anyway, cool surprise. I recently recieved my last paycheck from my job ( I “quit” for finals and break, I’ll go back when I want money) I expected said check to be maybe $80 before taxes, and it ended up being about $260 after the bite. Made me happy.
In my mental calculations of where my check book was I thought it was pretty low. Low to the point I took money out of my savings account to go shopping with.(I haven’t been keeping stellar written records, just sort of estimating mentally. Call me Peter Pan) I went and put my check into my savings and got a quick look at where my checking account was. It was an order of magnitude higher than I thought it was. It may be a hacking error on the part of someone, but it made me very happy. (Don’t be too impressed, with the piddly sums I keep in my checking an order of magnitude isn’t much.)
I’ve read books on three of the four (all but the Donner party), but I didn’t realize before I read them that there would be people eaten. Well, maybe I did with Leningrad, not sure.
Considering that Medea’s Child’s mom apparently thinks all us internet guys are axe murdering psychopaths, perhaps this isn’t the best topic to go into much further.
Busy. Very busy. I may have mentioned to you that my company is merging with two others… This weekend we bring one of them onto our computer system. I’m being pulled in a dozen directions at once, yet somehow things are falling into place; not as completely as I’d hoped, but not completely chaotic yet, either.
Have to go into work tomorrow (Saturday), which is quite rare for me. Unpaid overtime… Yea! I am tempted to take all of Christmas week off in retaliation, except it would only hurt me more when I come back next year.
Other than that (and Christmas shopping), looking forward to next Friday…
Ah… there, you see, lies my advantage; Medea’s Child’s mom (wouldn’t that be Medea?) has met me, and therefore knows me as something other than an “axe murdering psychopath”
Le Sang, Calc went okay. It was identical to the practice exam, so I just did it. No big surprises.
Mrblue, yuk! so inviting you to my sister’s concert wouldn’t be a good idea. Le Sang does have one over on you with my mom. She thinks he rocks. (As do I, admittedly)
Narile, I’m well aware of Medea’s adventures after the Argonauts. And, with my mom, it may be ironic, but its normal. Sigh. She’s open minded, but she contemplates hiring PIs to check my friends out. Its interesting.
DRY! LOL! “Who’s your daddy?” indeed… this thread isn’t all about me. its about…um…[sub]stuff… I guess[/sub]
OH! I GOT MY CD!!! my happy hardcore vol 3 CD that I have been searching for! I bought it! Yea! (My mom says its annoying. So I guess I’m not getting the other volumes for christmas.) Knew you all cared.
<blushing>
wow… rocks, huh? I never knew
Glad the calc was as easy as expected
cool about the CD btw; let me borrow it sometime, k?
DRY: 5%, eh? and what’s all this about flirting? Nobody in their right mind (or out of it, even) flirts with me - (thus the gf who is a LONG way off and unpredictable enough to throw me )
