I believe a wood duck (and perhaps serveral other species) can land and roost in trees. In fact,

Perching ducks (like the wood duck) can.

I was sure this thread was going to involve sound waves bouncing off solid objects.

There is in fact a group of ducks (genus Dendrocygna) that are known as “tree ducks” from their habit of nesting/perching in trees. They are also known as “whistling ducks:”
