Brazil has a specific meaning in contemporary porn. If the porn mentions Brazil that means it focuses on anal sex (anal sex with women - I don’t think there’s an association with gay anal sex).
Any idea when and where this comes from? Did it just sort of develop by coincidence that Brazil became associated with anal sex in the porn industry? Or is there some specific reason why this happened? Do Brazilians actually have more anal sex than people in other countries?
News to me, my recollection was that the connection was more with orgies, you know, seasonal carnival debauchery, and IIRC a few years ago in the news the Catholic church complained to the organizers of a mega orgy in Brazil that advertised one of the coming happy events in the open.
Never heard of that. I have heard of the term “Greek” being used, like in the back of alt-weeklies where the ads for [del]prostitutes[/del] escorts proclaims “does Greek” or “no Greek.” No news on whether being willing to do Greek makes enough money more to fix the Greek economy.
It comes from Brasilian women being known for their beautifully huge asses i imagine.
Just a WAG, but… well, you know how some guys are breast men, some guys are leg men, and so on? From what I’ve been told, Brazillian guys are overwhelmingly ass men. There’s a reason the thong bikini was invented in Brazil.
I’ve never heard this either, and I like to think I’m passingly familiar with both Brazil and porn. Anal sex is fairly ubiquitous in a lot of porn now, especially European-made porn.
I have no idea, but I do own one Brazilian porn DVD. Technically it’s my husband’s–I bought it for him when I was in Brazil in 2004 (way back when we were just dating). It’s definitely different than US porn. Stylistically I prefer the US stuff, though it may just be what I’m used to. I don’t watch very much porn at all so I’m not much of a connes… coiness…con…connoisseur (fine–I finally had to look it up). I don’t recall there being any more anal sex than in the typical US porn, but it’s been a few years since I’ve watched it so I may be misremembering. Also, I may have an inaccurate gauge of how much anal is in US porn since I tend to look for porn with more anal in it intentionally. I would rather watch anal than oral. Oral bores the crap out of me to watch.

I’ve only ever heard “Brazilian” in reference to a shaved pubis, and then less in porn than in women’s magazines or waxing spas. As thelurkinghorror pointed out, the classic euphemism for sodomy is “Greek”, although that usually refers to male-on-male. For what it’s worth, the equivalent term for oral sex is “French”.
I would assume that “Brazil” would mean not necessarily anal, but ass-centered. Probably lots of doggy-style, reverse cowgirl, lots of lush, caramel, quivering backsides…

I can only add this minimal tid-bit to this discussion: Unlike many of the above posts (who have never heard of a connection of “Brazil” to anal), I’ve seen that mentioned somewhere… (Sorry, no cite off-hand.) Only to say, the mere fact that I’ve seen it mentioned before, proves that it has been mentioned before.
Oh, BTW , the mention I’ve seen is to this effect: Hetero anal is said to be fairly prevalent in Brazil.

I’ve never seen this. Possibly one or two distributors is doing this but I don’t think it’s any kind of a porn industry standard.
