A Q for Libertarian on Libertaria

I’ll agree with that, and with the praise for erislover. (erl, I want to reply to your commentary regarding my remarks, but I’ll have to make some time for that in the next few days.) Lib had already (prior to this thread) educated me into a better acceptance of libertarianism as a philosophy. Truth be told, my criticism of modern libertarians as having “dispossessed” Jefferson’s pragmatic liberalism can even more validly be applied to modern liberals. I remain very hopeful that libertarian ideals of minimal government continue to be stressed in public discourse, and I hope this thread continues in such a positive vein.

You implied that it’s the Clean Air Act’s fault it costs so much to keep the air clean because of all the bureacracy needed to comply with it. Only a fool would claim we do not need clean air and you are not a fool. However, you implied that without the Act, it would cost less to keep it clean. MY point is that without the Act, corporations would do nothing at all to keep the air clean. Doing so cuts into their profits.
