Are deleted scenes canon?
Do they become canon when they are added in later on a DVD?
There are deleted scenes for BSG that can be seen online and/or discussed by the pod cast commentary track, but are they really part of the story?
What about Desperate Housewives and their extra scene on GMA?

Should we, as fans, consider these scenes when we try to figure out what is going on?
It’s up to the creators whether the deleted scenes are canon or not. Until you know if the creators want them to be, who can say?
I’d say no. If they wanted the scene to be canon, it would have been included in the movie/episode. After all, if the deleted scenes included an alternate ending that conflicted with the main ending, certainly that wouldn’t be canon, right?
But Desperate Housewives now shows a scene on GMA, as a promotional thing for both shows, but the scene was cut for running time. Though I think the scene was specifically shot to appear on GMA.
