A question about the movie Flight (Denzel Washington)

OK, so I watched this movie for the first time tonight, well worth a watch and an interesting exploration of heroism, human weakness and redemption, though the religious overtones were laid on a little too thick for my liking.

Anyway, very minor question, on the night before the hearing Washington’s character is shown into a hotel room, he is handed a folder by his attorney and told that it is all the info he has on the case and that Washington should read up on it.

In a scene a short time later he is lying on his bed and he opens the folder…but there’s nothing in it.

Whah? Did I miss something somewhere, and if it really was empty then why?

Thanks!

I honestly don’t remember the sequence, but by then I was so put off by the reverent AA-ism (not ‘religious’ per se) of the story that vigorous eye-rolling probably prevented me from noticing.

I remember the scene and thought it implied that all the evidence had been covered up, but I admit to only watching the movie once and not paying that close of attention.

Agreed, that aspect was overdone as well, but despite that and even though it was obvious what was coming I thought the ending was quite well done.

That makes sense, thanks!
