As far as I can tell, most people are fairly evenly divided between Netscape and IE. But my question is a 3 parter. Has anybody here used Netscape 6 preview 3 yet? And if so, does it install over your current installation of Netscape? How does it perform?
I have used preview releases 1 and 2. Three is just an addition to those.
They install into a separate new directory of their own, called Netscape6, and not overtop of your current version.
I used the firt one, and experienced a few minor bugs. The seconds was not noticably any more of a problem than any other browser I’ve used.
Three is sure to be less buggy, but since systems vary, you shall have to give er’ a go and see how it works for you.
Since it won’t overwrite older versions, there’s no harm in it.
You might want to try the latest mozilla build instead of netscape6 pre3. Mozilla is the browser behind netscape, but without all the aol commercial crap added in.
And the latest Mozilla is also more up to date than pre3.

If the keyboard back and forward shortcuts were working yet (kinda low priority to fix), I’d be using it all the time.
I’m testing out the Earthlink 5.0 browser right now. It’s a bit like Netscape without the add-ons, but with a halfway-decent web accelerator built in. No glitches so far, but resetting all my “cookies” took a bit of work.
I really like Neoplanet which completely changes IE to be fun!
Pictures, funny sets of icons for the buttons, special sounds, hundreds of themes.
