iii. A standard issue* werewolf would take wolf form once a lunar month.
If a female werewolf’s menses were simultaneous with a full moon would she be somewhat more irritable than if they were out of sync? If so, if the female werewolf worked as a police officer would that be an expecially bad time for a criminal or 3 to take her hostage.
Mrs. Cake’s daughter Ludmilla and Angua are standard issue: human form except during the full moon. Ludmilla’s boyfriend is lupine except during a full moon. Then he takes human form. That is non-standard.
On becoming a werewolf, human females stop having monthly cycles and instead go into heat for five to seven days a year, typically some time between January and April.
Different were-critters exhibit unique characteristics in varied traditions. Select a tradition and species that fit your kinks. And adjust for technology and location. A standard-issue Terran werewolf on Mars has a different relationship with Lunar or other satellite cycles. And out in the Jovian moons - cowabunga! Similarly, a Ganymedean were-thing would go through changes on Earth we might not even recognize.
My advice: to be safe, stick with selkies, the were-seal people. You can surely use the fish.
If a werewolf woman is ovulating when the moon is full, will she be in heat as a wolf?
And if she mates with a male werewolf during that full moon, will she deliver a littler of puppies who transform into humans when the moon is full?
A female lycanthrope whose cycles align is not “somewhat more irritable” during a full moon. She is a psychopathic murderous monster. As is a female lycanthrope with unaligned cycles, or a male lycanthrope regardless of hormonal situation.
Also, properly speaking, there is no such thing as a female werewolf. The root “were” means “man”, as in a specifically male human. A female lycanthrope would be a “wyfwolf”, or if one wished to be gender-nonspecific, a wightwolf.
And while we’re at it, PMS is “pre-menstrual syndrome”. The increase in irritability, and other symptoms, come a few days before menstruation, not during it. Irritability in women can also arise from men presuming we know more about how their bodies work than we actually do. One would be well-advised to be better educated about the subject before starting a thread on it.
That’s only an average. Cycles running from 21 to 40 days are considered normal (back when this was a concern for me my natural cycle was 32-35 days, as an example).
Well, yes, that is sort of how a lunar month is defined…
It depends - in what way are they synching? Is the PMS synched with the full moon? Or the bleeding days?
A number of fantasy worlds with werewolves have it that female werewolves are unable to bear children, miscarrying during their monthly transformation. So there’s that.
Well Ranger Jeff seems to be referring tothis werewolf, who sometimes, when she can’t control herself, eats people’s chickens. And then comes back and pays for them the next day.
