I mean shaved bald. Any way of getting rid of that ‘5 o’clock shadow’ look? Richard Moll, Lawrence Fishbourne, Yul Brenner, Telly Savalas, they didn’t have it. Someone told me there is a type of wax that can be used on the scalp, but this person is not a reliable source.
Nope, sorry. I shave my head about once a week, and since I have fair skin and dark hair, my “shadow” returns within hours.
This is probably true for most bald men. The ones you name, all celebrities, could afford the luxury of makeup artists and on-set stylists to shave them fresh just before the creation of any images you would have seen of them.
Off the set, out of the public eye, I bet Richard Moll, Yul Brynner et al. had/have the shadow just like the rest of us do.
I am not bald at all, but I do shave my head sometimes, which I just did on sunday. I start by having my wife cut my hair as short as she can using a barbers clippers, then I use a Trac 2 razor, just like I use on my face.
And like my face, I get shadow every day. The only way to avoid it is to shave every day, but that can get uncomfortable. I would suggest aloe vera or baby oil for that shinny “cue ball” look. (Baby oil can cause ingrown hairs, though. Be warned!)
Though it appears Eggs was only funning, DO NOT try either of these. Dipilatories can burn your scalp something fierce, and waxing would be a long, PAINFULL  experience. Just shave your head every 2 days and live with the shadow every other day. Shadow doesn’t look that bad anyway.
Electrolysis!
If it’s really an issue and you want to stay that way for a LONG time, why not give it a shot? ":'P You can buy one of those home electrolysis kits on the shopping network for not too much, and your wife/gf/mother can use it too!
My younger brother shaves his head. Pretty much an every 2-3 days kind of deal. I have never seen him totally without the shadow though.
