Are you really under the impression that those 22 people would all be unemployed if Charles wasn’t giving them jobs?
A I said above, there would be 22 less jobs in this country.
If Ian McGregor had said in 1984, “Are you really under the impression that nearly 200,000 people would be unemployed if The National Coal Board wasn’t giving them jobs?”, would you think that to be a reasonable statement?
Same principle, different scale.
He could create 2,200 jobs. I still don’t think he’ll make a very good monarch.
Surely you’re not so ignorant of economics that you think there’s a fixed number of jobs in the country? :smack:
If a valet presented themselves to an employment agency and their CV included working for the Heir to the Throne, they would immediately be snapped up by a wealthy couple - just think of the boast “Oh yes, our butler used to work for Royalty!”
This would not put someone out of work - a new job would be created.
I suppose that would work for the royal auto mechanics, too.
“Oh yes, he used to change the prince’s oil.”
Well, If he didn’t employ them they wouldn’t be able to say that, would they?
Keep slapping your head, it might knock some sense into it…
