Recently, I saw a story about a group of friends and family all of whom shaved their heads in solidarity/support for a loved one who had lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
If you have lost your hair this way, how does this make you feel ? Is it helpful? Does it make you feel better, or worse ?
Until some Dopers who have lived through this chime in, I cannot see posting what I think of this idea, as I have not lived this.
Who has lived this ?

I’ve never experienced this, personally, but have seen it often. My husband even did it in support of a brother firefighter.
When he did it the sick firefighter was overwhelmed by the gesture.
Having worked in the early days of bone marrow transplantation, I took care of several teenagers whose friends did it. The number of photos displayed told the stories there. I don’t recall any of the patients being anything but grateful for the gesture.
Of course, on the bone marrow transplant unit everyone (except the staff, of course) was bald.
We did our best to promote “Bald is Beautiful”, so, it’s possible I have a narrow viewpoint.
