Lego is ideal for trying out Trebuchet designs:

I have read quite a bit about Trebuchets and attempts to reconstruct them. I am pretty confident that, of the historic designs, the swinging counterweight was the most efficient.

I think we’ll probably go with the attached weight that swings, it will be easier to construct with the materials we have.
