I love the Dope. I never knew that girthyness contributed! Haha! Its not my Fault! I don’t just have a crappy urethra! Literally!
My family runs to chronic UTI's, and my husband is, well, girthy. And we are traditional and religious (IYKWIM). So, the first few months of our marriage were, to put it delicately, painful. Even now, 2+ years in, I can get a UTI from a steamy glance.
I use cranberry supplement pills, 3 every 6 hours or so, and force liquids, whenever it starts. I really should supplement all the time, not just when it hurts, but, eh, I'm lazy.
And I have very little hope of it ending. My paternal grandmother, age 76, still gets them. She had to have surgery last year because it made it to her kidneys.
I haven’t read the entire thread, but it seems to me the cure (drink gallons & gallons of water) is worse than anything. If you have health insurance, they’ll pay for an antibiotic, but: (1) call your physician & have him send a prescription to your drugstore. (2) Go to drugstore & retrieve said prescription.
Pain in the whatever. All I wanted was relief. I have sympathetic family, so I can’t help but have sympathy for women who had to get to the pharmicists to get their prescriptions.
And yeah Red Barchetta he only times I’ve ever had UTI’s after I had sex.
