I found 'em as I was checking for spelling of some of Lovecraft’s creatures for Legomancer’s great Shadow over Who-ville thread and I’ve been laughing since then.
These guys are crazed geniuses and I keep thinking “Why didn’t I think of this??”
I mean, with lyrics like:
(to “Sunrise, Sunset”) Arkham, Dunwich, Arkham, Dunwich
Filled with haunting fears
Neighbors who hide up in the attic
Inbreeding happly for years
or
(to “Anatevka”) Miskatonic, Miskatonic
Ivy League wannabe, Miskatonic
It fills the brain and chills the heart…
or
(to “Matchmaker”)
*Byakhee,Byakhee
Fly me through space
Take me away
Far from this place.
Byakhee Byakhee
What must I do
To go for a ride with you?
Byakhee Byakhee
Now heed my call
I’ve cast the spells
I’ve done them all
Out of Tartarian darkness appear
And fly me away from here!
*
how can you go wrong?
Brilliant.
I just ordered the CD. I’ll let you know if it’s as good as it seems.
And their tag-line had me rolling on the floor: “There are some things man was not meant to adapt to musical theatre…”
Can some nameless, unspeakable, shambling Mod of loathing horror (or just a regular one if the other kind isn’t available) fix the spelling on the frigging title of the thread?
The critter’s name is correctly spelled: Shoggoth.
Sadly, my apartment is a mess and I can’t find it right now. I thought that I left it under the pile of dog skulls in the kitchen. But, it’s not there. I dug large holes in the walls. But, all I turned up were dead mice-rotting foully, but singing in sweet voices.
