You’ve probably already heard all the hoopla about it being 10 years since Michael Jackson died.
Whenever I hear someone lamenting his death, all I can do is feel sorry for poor Farrah Fawcett, who died a few hours earlier that day, but who many people have forgotten all about in the Michael Jackson furor, may he also rest in peace.
So, here, for what it’s worth, is one person who hasn’t forgotten that Farrah died that day, too.
P.S.: No, I wasn’t a particularly big Farrah fan. I preferred Jaclyn and later Cheryl.
It’s not a great episode, but South Park’s “Dead Celebrities” serves as a handy reminder of the numerous famous people who died in the summer of 2009 and were overshadowed by Jackson.
:dubious: If all you can think of to mention in an OP ostensibly to memorialize Fawcett is a semi-disparaging reference to one well-known TV role that she played for three years of a half-century career, it seems as though your real point is to suggest that people shouldn’t be memorializing Jackson.
C.S Lewis and Aldous Huxley both died the same day as JFK, but do you hear them complain?
Now maybe if I had had either MJ or Farrah in the Death Pool I would remember their death days better, but as it is, I can’t say I am sorrier for Farrah than I would be if Michael hadn’t upstaged her.
Who deserves more sympathy? I say let Lee Majors and Bubbles fight it out between them.
