A Site for Sore Ears: 1910s–20s Pop Songs

Hey! You’re that glenster? Cool! I love your site. Welcome to the SDMB! Thanks for the great tunes!

<blush> Yep, That’s me! It’s nice to meet everyone - I’m in great company!

Glen

Oh, on this Audrey Hepburn site, if you go to sounds and scenes, there are some sound files of music from her movies, like Isn’t It Romantic and La Vie En Rose.

Former neighbors of mine would’ve loved this thread. They collected just this type of music. Anytime I went over to their house, they always had one of a seemingly-endless supply of records playing. They never seemed to mind the scratches, or the background hisses and other attendant noises. The only title that stuck in my head, probably because it was so repetitive(alliterative?) was Baby Your Mother Like She Babied You, Back in Your Baby Days, by Irene Bodoni[Bordoni?] Any relation, possibly, to one of our illustrious moderators?

And then there are those who want to have their cake and eat it too, with Eminem ragtime: http://www.aprilwinchell.com/multimedia/media/mp3/Mrag.mp3.

Of course, I just realize now that that site doesn’t permit direct linking to files, so one should either copy and paste the shortcut or go to http://www.aprilwinchell.com/multimedia/ to view the site as intended and do a “find on this page” for the word “ragtime.”

This is a delightful thread. Thank you Eve and all y’all.
