Well, this rather bizzare post might belong in IMHO, or even The Pit, but I’ll try here, first.
I’ve always beleived that there was a special place in Hell for people responsible for censorship, book-burners, etc. The question I have is, WHERE would that place be? Even Dante’s description of Hell, which includes levels of punishment for the “Violent Towards Art,” I’m not sure which part would be the most appropriate. Can any experts in theological geography give me a hand? Or at least suggest a punishment of their own?
Well, thanks for your patience,
Ranchoth
P.S. I’m not a serial killer, like that guy from “Se7en,” or anything.
Well, since what they wanted was to deny information to people, I’d think that the “Bookburners’ Nook” would be a place where they’d have to spend eternity under a library’s checkout desk, watching people check out anything they pleased.
They’d hate that.
Slight variation: “The Study Room.” Empty save for Huckleberry Finn, Catcher in the Rye, The Satanic Verses, and the collected works of Tom of Finland. Before leaving the room, one must demonstrate handwriting, grammatic and compositional expertise as well as mastery of the subjects while answering the 38,000 essay questions. In ink.
Just to be a nice guy, Satan grades them on the t-scale in order to graduate those who were feigning ignorance just so they could fit in.
