A stopping smoking bitch session (to keep MPSIMS semi clean)

I smoked 2 cigarettes after work the 5th (actually the wee hours of the 6th) and one after work last night.

I’m trying to keep the attitude of progress rather than perfection. I fyou wanna flame me for having those 3 smokes, go right ahead.

Jack@ss you aren’t a fraud…You are attempting something that is VERY difficult and has a higher recidavism (sp?) rate than heroin users.

I imagine three is much less than you would have smoked last week.

I fogot to add, I did smoke those last three. I was obsessed over them, I was a smoker.
Oh and jack@ss I’m not gonna flame you and if anyone did I would have to kick some serious ass over that. You stumbled.

Don’t need no stinkin book to stop smoking. I’ve got all I need inbetween my ears to either make it a success or fail. :wink:

Well, I THOUGHT I was doing great on this (today being my first full smoke-free day). Then I noticed a certain subtle pattern operating:

  1. Jackelope comes this close to tears and hysterics at the grocery store because he can’t find his favorite root beer and the mangoes aren’t ripe;

  2. Jackelope suddenly catches himself screaming at the dog that she’s being “TOO CLINGY, DAMMIT”;

  3. A coworker asks Jackelope if he was around when the boss was talking about next year’s capital requisition forms. Jackelope’s response: “YES! For God’s sake, YES! JESUS!”


But I’ll make it. I feel incredibly uncomfortable and irritable and jumpy, but I find that I actually don’t feel much like smoking. The jumpiness and discomfort don’t really feel connected to the not smoking; it’s just something I wish would go away.

When you start to get that anxious feeling, I recommend that you carry some straws with you. Pop one in your mouth and start to chew.
