Yesterday I was at Home Depot with my year-old twins, buying paint for the mural I’m going to paint at their pediatrician’s office (she is a sweet lady & terrific doctor, I’m doing this for free as a thank-you). The kids were being cute & jabbery, one of those situations where strangers smile and comment.
I get the kids loaded into my car and start to put the paint away, and realize I’m missing a can. Shit! The clerk forgot to give me my yellow. I stand there for a minute, wishing an employee would wander by, but no luck. So I start to pull the kids back out of the car, into their stroller, when this lovely young lady dashes up to me “Did you forget something? I saw you starting to get your babies back out. I’ll go get it for you”.
Yes.
This young lady made two trips into the store (the clerk didn’t know what she was talking about the first time & she came back to look at the other cans I’d bought). She saved me time and energy and having to drag my kids around when they were starting to get tired.
To that gal, and all others who take a minute to make the world a better place:
Thanks! It’s working!
