Right in this thread I’ve acknowledged that there are a lot of people around here who are smarter than me, and a lot of people who know more about various subjects than I do. While I’m quite happy to call ignorant people ignorant, I certainly don’t make it a habit to insult those who aren’t.
Perhaps there is some field in which you aren’t quite so ignorant; I haven’t seen it yet, but I can only read so many threads around here.

I need to get around more, I guess. I haven’t seen Excalibre constantly calling people ignorant, and I read quite a few threads he participates in. Frankly, it’s nice to see someone who isn’t afraid to offend anyone with their sometimes un-PC opinions. I think we go too far out of our way to make sure we don’t offend anyone and compromise our own convictions in the process. Excalibre doesn’t do that.
As for John’s comment, I don’t think it was leveled at you personally. I like the man, but he has that typical pubbie insecurity, always having to insult the liberals to feel better about himself (

Isn’t he basically libertarian? That’s the impression I always get reading his posts.
It’s entirely possible, although I haven’t really seen him support any Libertarian candidates. We see eye to eye on quite a few things, wildly disagree on others. Make of that what you will.

Hmm, what to do? On the one hand, I always look forward to Excalibre’s posts. Even when I disagree with him, they’re always well-written, and they’re very often chock full of fascinating stuff.
On the other hand, I also really like FinnAgain’s posts, and look forward to reading them, too. I don’t know what grudge the two of them have against each other, but I’m sad that it exists.
Oh well.
