A thread for Anita Blake fans

I agree about Narcissus - bought it, read it - chucked it. I still have the rest of the books (except Burnt Offerings - which I also chucked)- but will be reading the rest of the Anita books through the library - not worth my money.

I do like Merry though - just read Caress of Twilight - but then maybe it’s because she came in as a character with power who focuses on sex, so it’s not like she totally changed. I don’t know…

I’ve got to agree with you, Andros. I bought all of the paperback books of Anita Blake and liked them all except for Narcissus in Chains ( I bought that one in hardback) because it deteriorated in to one whiny sex scene after another. I’m hardly a prude, but I wanted a believable detective story and this really let me down. I guess I’ll wait until more of her books hit the library. Like Susan_ Foster, I do like Merry.

Color me stupid, but who is Merry?

I tried reading that book and couldn’t really get into it, but, hey, it gives Ms. Hamilton something to do when she’s not writing about Anita Blake.

I just finished ** Guilty Pleasures** <lower lip trembles> Why doesn’t she end up withEdward? I like Edward! Oh well, I’m only 10 pages into the next one, I suppose I’ll find out he’s dead or something eventually.

Spoiler for NiC (not that it matters. The plot is just there to give Anita more men.)
When Anita pulls out the leech-life trick she learned in OB, , did it work because Chimera was part wereleopard? Or can Anita now just lifedrain anyone who gets in her way? I have to admit, this could make for some funny scenes.
Random female vampire: Fear, me mortal!
Anita: [SLURP] Yummy.
