An escaped tiger was shot near the Ronald Reagan Library in California.
We had one loose in Albuquerque a few years back, but in that case the cops were able to tranquilize it (they found it in the early morning, when few people were about) and reunite it with its owner.
My husband is a volunteer with a local wildlife rescue organization that helps to rehabilitate wild creatures that have been abused, neglected, and abandoned. They have several tigers that people tried to turn into house cats. I wish people would realize that you can’t make a pet out of just everything.
They said it had probably been wandering around for a couple weeks. Had it eaten anyone during this time? Was it just about to eat someone? So why was it so dangerous that a tranquilizer would have taken to long to take it down necessitating killing it instead?
