Black thing on the bald guy’s chest? EWAG, shotgun shell carrier.
The guy in the sunglasses? Riot gear. Note the shoulder armor, the greaves, etc. Only thing missing is the Lexan shield.
just needs a horse and lance, and he’s good to go for jousting.
There are proud LGTBQ+ people in Alaska. Maybe try Hell.
I was thinking: paint it white and give him a ray gun and he’s a storm trooper.
I’ve said for years I’d like to see a fight between a riot squad, and group of medieval reenactors. Riot cops are the only remaining practical application of a shield wall, and it would be cool to see if the reenactors could beat them at their own game.
Or a blaster rifle and an adorable baby Yoda, and he could be a Mandalorian.
What I like best about this story is that a jury was successfully picked in Coeur d’Alene and required only a bit over an hour to reach a just verdict. Coeur d’Alene. One of the Trumpiest areas on the planet.
It retains my faith in our legal system, that a fair jury can be picked from nearly any population, and they will convict if evidence is strong.
Didn’t we see something like that in Washington DC a few years ago?
That is a very good point! This is a city that has been taken over by far right kooks, from the public school boards, to the board of the local community college which is now struggling to stay accredited since the board seems hell-bent on shutting the college down. I’m very glad to see this first round of convictions.
Given this verdict, I expect a deluge of plea bargains from most of the rest of these losers.
He hasn’t been sentenced yet. The max is 1 year in jail. Unless it keeps them out of jail they might take their chances. They are losers as you say, a year of steady meals and no work may not look that bad to them.
Boba Fett!
Well, they answered the question on why a U-Haul, among other things:
Center, a 23-year-old heavy equipment operator from Fayetteville, Arkansas, said the group planned to peacefully protest that day, and the shields and other protective equipment were simply to protect themselves from violent attackers. He said he was assigned to carry a shield at the Pride celebration.
He also said members wear face masks to protect their identities, and the group typically uses U-Haul trucks to transport members in a “discreet manner” to demonstrations.
Center, who has been a member for two and a half years, said people have taken photos and videos of members’ faces before and posted the information online, exposing them to harassment. People have also damaged their personal vehicles in the past, and their license plate numbers could reveal their identities, again exposing them to potential harassment. He said that’s why they choose U-Haul trucks.
The poor things, they were just wearing masks and using a U-Haul to try to protect themselves from potential harassment. And the protective gear and shields were to protect themselves from violent attackers.
The irony.
ETA: Oh, and is anyone surprised by this from a group that has problems with drag performances because according to one member “I don’t think there should be kids involved at all in something like that,”
Jared Boyce, of Springville, Utah, did not appear for his December pretrial conference and a warrant was issued, according to the Idaho Court Portal. In April, Boyce pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in Utah, according to media outlets.
Transporting people in the truck seems like it would violate the terms of service, but I’m not pulling up a U-Haul contract and trying to read it on my phone.
Not just that, U-Haul says not to do it because it’s illegal.

Don’t allow passengers or pets to ride in the cargo area. A teenager might think it’s the greatest idea ever to ride in the back of the moving truck, but it is against the law and is also very dangerous.
I suppose the smoke bomb was defensive as well?
Hey, you may need to lay down a smokescreen to retreat safely.
I wonder if they tried to argue with U-Haul to get back their deposit…
