I think we’re all familiar with Stephen Jay Gould.
Does anyone know if he is related (albeit thru several generations) to railroad financier Jay Gould who made tons of money in the late 1800’s?
I think he went on to found “Grand Funk Railroad”.
If memory serves, SJ Gould noted in his most recent book that his parents were immigrants. Thus, if Jay Gould was an American, I’d have to guess the answer is “no.”
