It was really surprising, the hate got from my last thread about Aly. I didn’t mean to instill such hate. My concern was with human trafficking and the exploitation of women and such. That’s really where i was coming from; I don’t have a beef about women or about their independence. But i didn’t do an adequate job of expressing my issue. My own fault. But, admittedly, I feel bad about my post. I think that the respondents were shit for the things they said, but I thought my heart was in the right place. I generally don’t even open threads that don’t interest me (duh), so I haven’t seen the thread you’re referencing. However, I was intrigued by the title of this thread and wanted to see a “very subtle fuck you”. Instead, I get an invitation to consume your unsurprisingly shit-stained underwear. Where’s the subtlety in that? I am disappointed. Now, the scene from the first JJverse Star Trek film where Spock tells the Board of the Vulcan Science Academy to “Live long and prosper”, that was a subtle fuck you.
Having read some of that thread yeah people were insulting.
However I think for a lot of people, living in a sex positive society is one where women are empowered and their rights respected. Access to porn supposedly lowers rates of sex crimes and sexual abuse.
Basically it seems that, in general, the more libertine societies are the ones where women are respected and empowered, while the sexually repressive ones are the ones where women are abused and mistreated.
As someone who has gotten his share of verbally abusive pile-ons here, it hurts to feel like tons of people hate you and you don’t know who hates you and who doesn’t when you comment on a thread, which just makes you paranoid.
