A Very UHF MMP

kopek- I think **gt **used to keep a running list of starters. But she doesn’t hang around near as much as she used to.

Back from erranding. Last month, I earned a whopping $50 and change from sales at the store. Not hardly worth it. I don’t know how much longer I want to mess with it - by the time they take their 43% cut, I hardly get anything. And if I price things to get what I want, nothing will sell.

Dunno if it’s worth the aggravation.

So? You’re sober enough to drive now? :d&r:

I grew up in bobbio’s neck of the woods with the same TV stations and the same issues. Maybe no SNL without the aid of tinfoil, but I could sing all of the words to the Notre Dame fight song before I started school.

bobbio, do you remember a show that came on after Saturday cartoons (if there wasn’t a ND game) called Beyond Our Control? I seem to recall that it was a college theatre production.

I’ve found my Hanukkah gifts for **rosie **and flytrap.

You’re giving them waaaay too much credit. Beyond our Control was a production of a South Bend based Junior Achievement company. All work done by high schoolers.

BTW, Goshen High School '79. You?

Spaz I’m not Jewish, but I want one!

What a mensch!

Oooooh! Über cool!

Howdy from da cave! Finishin’ up a couple irk related things and then Ima head over to the church house. Also, I need to go by my bank and take care of some stuff but that’s on the way.

rosie yay for found keys!

Swampy, bbbobbio, you leave them frawgs alone! I wants to play with 'em. Frogs is happier and cuter with their laigs on anyhow. Isn’t that right, Nuts?

Sorry about the hold thing, Sari. That mortgage company - you’d think they’d want things correctly for their own sake.

I grew up with 4 TV channels: ABC, NBC, CBS, and PBS. Never did have cable TV until I went to college, and by then, I wasn’t much in the habit of watching teevee anyhow. I did relish my Saturday mornin’ cartoons and subsequent Monty Python though

I just had a very frustrating trip downtown to the library. The city parking lot was full at 2:45 on a Monday afternoon.:eek: I wouldn’t have even gone downtown if the books I wanted weren’t only at that branch.

Warsaw High School, class of '81.

At elementary school level, I wasn’t jaded enough to recognize the lack of production values yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

Doesn’t your system allow for requesting that books be sent to your preferred branch for pickup?

Rosie, do I remember right that you have at least one cat? That bit with the keys sounds like a cat’s notion of humor to me.

Irked, now ingesting therapy nachos before some dreaded homework. Remember the PowerPoint I was ranting about a week or two ago? I now have to watch two of these, done by classmates, and review them. UGH!

Worked, came home, walked the dog. Gotta be back at work at 0200.

I love TMI. Something about reading mom’s nursing journals between Doctor Who and Shaolin Fiver Finger Death Punch Off Track Dubbing Theatre*

“I came into this world naked, screaming, and covered in another person’s blood and fluids. I plan on going out the same way.”

I’d convert for it, but the Cult of Dionysius is offering 3 amphras of wine, and a Vestal ex-Virgin.

Yay on finding the keys, rosie!

*re, since it was made in Hong Kong.

Whew! Finally finished, prepared, and submitted 7 music arrangements.

I have spent a week in Phoenix with the son, DIL, and new baby Kora. I am besotted. They are besotted. It’s cool to watch.

I don’t have the pictures I took at work, but I did finally figure out flickr for the first pics that they sent to me.

Cute, cute, and cute. Assuming I got the links and the settings right. Not sure why that first photo flipped onto its side.

I WANT ONE! Thank for posting that. Those are cool!

As to niche old TV, I grew up either 18 miles SSW of LA or 4 miles NW of LA Harbor, depending on how you want to figure it. So we were pretty well inundated with mainstream TV. The local channel, LA5, did have a guy who drew things and talked in between cartoons, when I was a kid. But that was probably a franchise thing.

just the one, yes. But she couldn’t be bothered. She’s a senior citicat now, and only wants to eat, sleep, and attack my hands when I type. Oh, and she’s still a brush ho. But every night, she does her dash-around-the-apartment-at-light-speed thing just to keep in shape.

From whom did you plagiarize that?

Yay for Rosie finding the keys!

I’ve pretty much always been a tv-person, love watching it, but at certain points when I was a kid, we didn’t have access to a tv. I know, can you even imagine?! We lived in Michigan, and some places you needed a big, roof-top antenna to even get a network channel, I don’t think I saw a public station until we moved back east in 63! At any rate, we moved to Manistee in Feb. 1959, and didn’t get the antenna until the beginning of May. I guess my brothers and I entertained ourselves in other ways, but the first thing we saw on the new antenna was the Kentucky Derby!

Once we got back east, I think my younger brothers enjoyed “The Friendly Giant” on the local public station (WHYY); that was a program from Canada, I believe. This was well before Sesame Street. LOL

Great OT, Kopek!

It’s a variation of at least 2 sig lines on the Dope. And I didn’t plagiarize, I quoted.:stuck_out_tongue:

LOL ** Ruble**

Of course Thomas means twin, unless it doesn’t

My neighbor just popped over so I finally met her, She is very nice, asked if I minded if she put Christmas decorations up on my side of the porch too. She has matching wreaths for either side of the front doors.
It’s okay with me.

I’m hungry, have to figure out something quick for dinner since I have to log in to irk in 15 minutes
