I formed my opinion by observation.
These persons give themselves overhere an aura of being educated and being smart. That helps them to gain respect and that on its turn helps them to behave in order not to loose that respect.
This facade crumbled the minute they were confronted with an intruder who’s views shock their safe little virtual world.
It lured them into reactions forgetting all about their carefully entertained virual personality.
The ultimate defence and the decline came when one of them started this thread. The others couldn’t wait to jump on the wagon. They couldn’t wait to be part of the safety of the group, in defence of their mutual interest to get rid of that dangerous intruder.
They only brought themselves deeper and deeper in misery, incapable as they were to keep their masks up.
They gave themselves away for what is hidden behind that virtual personality and did that all by themselves in their eager to get rid of that nasty intruder by all means.
Thus they demonstrate that they aren’t even capable of keeping up appearances they want so badly to be kept up in a virtual world where they are as free as a bird thanks to the unreal contact and complete anonymity.
Which indicates that in the real world they don’t even have a chance to build a facade or to put up a mask.

This whole concept people are using here as if it the most normal thing to do has something irrealistic to me. Like i said, I don’t know if it is an American habit, I never experienced such a thing before. But it is not adding to the impression of Americans being capable of maturity and America being a mature nation, I can tell you that.
Such tactics (and they are encouraged here on this website… I fall backwards, really) are utterly childish and unworthy for everyone with some notice of decency, honour and self respect.
