Tuk, NWT, CAN.
Tuktoyaktuk, or Tuktuyaaqtuuq, Northwest Territories, Canada. Its 60-mile long ice road, the Tuktoyaktuk Winter Road on the frozen Mackenzie River from Inuvik NWT, is only open when the Mackenzie River Delta is frozen, from December to May. But a permanent road is being built, expected to open next year, so if you want to drive that ice road (hey, it’s only 3,000 miles from San Francisco), this winter is probably your last chance.
(Another good one for one’s inner six-year-old is Krapkowice, Poland.)
On with the game: Uhniv, Ukraine
