Ramsey, Isle of Man (British Crown Dependency, in the British Isles but not part of the United Kingdom)
Salta, Argentina
The Valley, Anguilla (British Overseas Dependency, West Indies)
Are we counting definite articles? :dubious:
Udaipur, India
Vanadzor, Armenia
Wichita Falls, Texas, USA
With my self-imposed limitation, I am – unless everyone else howls in protest and insists on the forbidding of so doing…
There are very few of them. Wikipedia’s list of towns in Oregon alphabetized The Dalles under T, not D. However the Gazetteer in Collins Atlas of the World alphabetizes it under D, as “Dalles, The. But why not “Paso, El”? Countries are always shown as “Gambia, The””. But also “Congo, Republic of”.
The British call it “The Lebanon”, but Americans just all it “Lebanon”.
In my opinion, and the opinion of people in The Dalles, the name of the city starts with a T.
Xuzhou, China
Yellow Springs, Ohio, USA
At all events, I’m not very far from the end of the road, re my choosing “only new countries / territories”: have only one more “The” place planned for use !
Z = Zwolle, Louisiana USA and ***The ***Netherlands
I would not classify the Netherlands under T. :dubious:
Back to the Game: Anchorage, Alaska, USA
Brades, Montserrat (West Indies – British Overseas Territory)
Chittagong, Bangladesh
Deer Park, NY, USA
Elista, Russia
Fredericton, New Brunswick. Canada
Gorey, Jersey (British Crown Dependency, not part of the UK)
Hajdúböszörmény, Hungary
