Has anyone here used AAA Car Buying Service? I would like to hear the pros and cons. Thanks.
Not AAA, but i tried services through Costco and through my credit union - and none of them beat the prices the dealerships were willing to offer me directly.
This was last November, FWIW.
Also, the annoying thing is, they share your contact information with all the dealers, so you WILL be inundated with emails and phone calls.
I’ve used AAA twice, and it was fine. In both cases the car was delivered to my credit union (which is where I got the loan) and I met them there, finalized the paperwork and the guy from AAA showed me the ins and outs of the car. I did this mainly because it was convenient and they did a lot of the legwork for me - finding the exact car I wanted and letting me know the sale price. Most dealerships will want to sell you what they have on their lot and if none of those suit, it’s just more efficient to have someone else do the searching for you. You do need to know what you want, though.
I don’t know that it is better necessarily than going to a dealership, particularly if you aren’t set on a particular make/model/features - but it is a lot less work for you.
