Aaargh, darn iTunes!

iTunes is, in essence, my TV. I like to own things, I like being able to do things simply and when I wish, and I like being able to attain things through legal means. Thus, I love iTunes. I’m able to watch Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, etc. all on my computer, anytime I wish to.

But blast it all, why can’t you frickin put up a schedule anywhere?

There’s no way for me to know when episodes are going to be released and which TV shows look like they’re going to appear. I mean, how hard is it to throw up a webpage saying “We expect to be starting Season 4 of BSG in mid-summer of 2008, Season 4 of Lost on January 30th, etc.”

I’m not sure if they’re lazy, or if their deals with the cable channels are so insecure that they themselves have no idea what’s going to get the go-ahead until 5 minutes before they make it public. But assuming the former, if there’s anyone here who works for Apple, could you please shoot whoever an e-mail asking them to please give people a heads up? It’s infuriating not knowing if Dexter Season 2 is ever going to come, if it’s just scheduled to be released with the DVD, if the contract is still being negotiated, or what. If the DVD appears on Amazon, should I order it, or can I wait a week and it will be downloadable? Will there be another episode of Lost on Thursday? These are real simple questions, and it should be possible to find them out.
