Aaliyah died...

My condolences to her. She was so friggin’ talented.

:frowning:

You got that right.

:frowning:

Wow. That’s kind of an eye opener really. She was famous, talented, beautiful, and all of a sudden everything she had going for her is gone because of a mere plane crash.
:frowning:

That really sucks. I"m not a big R&B fan but she’s one of the few I like. :frowning:

::adds one to his list of artists who died too young::

:frowning:

Oh wow…I remember getting ready in the mornings during junior high and her music coming on the radio…

…and I always thought she was talented. How sad. :frowning:

You’ll be missed. :frowning:

sic transit gloria mundi

That really sucks. She seemed so nice, from the interviews I’ve read with her. Not to mention incredibly talented. Sigh.

:frowning:

Qwertyasdfg just told me. I don’t know why this is upsetting me so much but it is. She was beautiful, not in a fake Christina Aguilera way, but naturally beautiful. She had a wonderful voice, full of soul and heart.
This is a tragedy, and she will be sadly missed.
:frowning:

I just saw a news flash about this on MTV. While I’m not a fan, I did like one or two of her songs I’d heard (which I can’t remember the name of now). She will be missed. :frowning:

Oh my God.

Her music wasn’t really my thing but still…

Wow.

:frowning:

Okay…I am sorry but who is she? No offense to those that like her for whatever reasons they do but I have no clue as to who or what she did for life and how we live it.

< sorry >

techchick68, just read the article.

Sorry to see her go. Im getting misty now :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Kunimitsu,

I have read two articles and I still don’t know who she is…I am sorry.

I am sorry that her and her family have to go through this and as callused (sp) as this sounds, I am not particularly touched anymore than I would if one of our local teens died in a car accident. I am sorry, very sorry it happened but I still don’t know who the woman is so it makes little impact on what I think or feel other than sorry for her family and her fans.

< God, now I feel like a heal but I still don’t know who the woman was… >

Aaliyah was an R&B singer and an actress, yes, but most of all she was a human being, and a seemingly nice one at that. She never seemed to cop an attitude about her fame and talent; she seemed at once very cool and very down-to-earth. She had talent; she never seemed to be overtly slutty or cheap as some of her colleagues did.

She was someone’s daughter, someone’s granddaughter, someone’s niece, cousin…she was someone’s friend. That’s why she’s mourned. She was a person.

Does she deserve more acclaim in death because of her music/acting? No…but since she did bring enjoyment to many people, then they will be affected.

(Not a rant against you tech, I’m just explaining.)

She was also the Juliet character in “Romeo must die” if that helps anyone.

Ack . . .

My first recollection of her was from “Romeo must Die”. Ack . . .

Unfortunate. Very unfortunate for everyone.

Err, uh, make that a double :frowning: :frowning:

wow, so quick too. It always gets me when people are alive and then just dead.
Here’s her too brief filmography
