Aaron Rodgers and vaccines

I agree with consent being necessary 100%. On top of it, sure the risks are low, but there are lots of people like him making that same decision, all around the world…a fractional probability here, a fractional probability there, and pretty soon you’re talking meaningful probabilities.

I think retroactive forfeiting should be on the table. I think it probably should not happen based on what’s come out so far, but if he further violated protocol or lied about more, particularly anything that could have put opposing players at risk, it should.

If it’s revealed that he should not have been on the field, that should be the consequence. And it should be clear they are investigating that possibility.

I presume that there isn’t anything he could have lied about to get on the field – testing should be verified. Could he lie about having isolated when required? That is for player safety, too, because positive tests can lag infection.

What an incredibly dumb thing to do.

State Farm has put out their statement that they’re respecting his right to make his own choices.

The translation: he’s a very popular athlete, we don’t want to drop him, and we hope this blows over soon

And, quite possibly: a lot of our policyholders and agents probably agree with Rodgers.

Cry me a river. It angers me that he isn’t vaccinated, but it angers me more that he lied. Now he has COVID and I hope he ends up sick, at home, because don’t you unvaccinated come to the hospital where I work and take up a bed needed for the vaccinated. I also hope Green Bay loses every game for the rest of the season.

Radio? You should see the image meme that goes with it.

Ha! Nice. Tried to link some pictures but they wouldn’t embed. Just google Kaaron Rogers (such a great putdown) for the comedy gold.

Agreed.

I hope there are consequences too for the Packers organization if they didn’t require more information than his BS wordplay statement of being “immunized.” If they didn’t require dates, name of provider and name of vaccine, they should be penalized as well. And if the league hasn’t specified the level of proof teams need to require, they should be ashamed. There should be no possibilty of twisting words. If someone is going to lie, it should be crystal clear that they did, by naming a vaccine that they didn’t get, by a provider who didn’t provide it.

Another nail in the Cancel Culture Coffin.

I don’t want to work, I want to bang on Rodger’s coffin all day…

Here ya go:

I’d like to speak to the manager.

Sorry, Kaaron, that’s baseball. In football, you probably want the head coach.

Manager sounds so wussy, only woke liberal sports like baseball (I mean, you can’t score on defense! What useless shit is that?) use managers. Coach is much more macho. Got that hard “c” sound. Like kill, or fuck.

In his case, he wants to speak to the General Manager. (Packers GM Brian Gutekunst seems to be the primary Packers employee who has pissed Rodgers off over the past few years.)

Rodgers said he was allergic to an ingredient used in two mRNA vaccines – Pfizer and Moderna – and steered away from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after reports of adverse reactions…

Rodgers did not disclose what ingredient he was allergic to, but noted that the CDC warned those allergic to the polyethylene glycol ingredient should choose another form of protection against the virus…

He said he was not an anti-vaxer, but a “critical thinker.”

“I am not a COVID-denier or any (expletive) like that,” Rodgers said. “I just wanted to make the best choice for my body.”

The CDC on polyethylene glycol allergies and the COVID vaccines.

It looks like PEG can trigger anaphylaxis in some people. Whether Aaron Rogers is one of those people, however…

Oh, I know he could potentially be allergic, but those allergies are really rare. And, he just happened to be an anti-vaxxer at the same time for the J&J vaccine. What are the chances? Or, and I’m just spitballing here, since he lied about his vaccine status, maybe he lied about his allergy as well.

To be fair, he’s also allergic to cloth, so he wasn’t able to wear a mask, either.

Then how does he manage to wear any clothing at all, including his uniform?

Eh, unless Rodgers worships Trump, I’m not comfortable with tarring him with that brush.

It’s really elaborate body paint.
