Heh, five Labs! Another four would just take over the last few tiny remnants of floor space that you have available for your own personal space. What’s not to like? 
Just popping in to say that if my parents were going to drown some very cute puppies unless I got them away, I’d probably have done the same thing.
I’m willing to bet on an attitude from the parents: “Those dogs won’t make us any money, why should we go out of our way for them? Costs gas to take them to the pound and they’ll just gas 'em anyway.” People can justify anything to themselves.
The Father had animal cruelty charges against him at some point, having to do with a goat.
But I digress.
Or least take the time to find a burlap sack and a rock.
Oh God how I miss my good dog Raven(a Black Lab/Border Collie mix). I chose my wife(she’s allergic) and my life over him, and I’ve never regretted it, he went to live with my mother and lived happy and pampered until he died from a snake bite, but I hope my wife never finds out how close the decision was. 
Whenever he did something wrong, I would correct him with a sharp “RAVEN!”. He’d look at me, immediately sit, and start giving paw to the air. You could actually see his brain working: “Uh-oh, I did something wrong. How about this?(gives paw to air) You taught me this! You like this! I’m a GOOD dog!” God, I miss that dog.
Excuse me, there must be some dust in the air, I have to go wipe my eye.
Sorry to hear that you got puppies dumped on you, glad to hear there’s a good place for them to go. A related story: My girlfriend’s parents used to have a flag with a picture of a cat on it hanging outside their house. (This is a fairly rural part of PA.) Anyway, it got to the point where they had to take the flag down because people kept dumping cats at their house.
Not floor space - bed space.
Then he can use the labs for pillows and throw rugs.
Mrs. Plant met the rescue folks and gave them the puppies and $50.00.
I didn’t go, I didn’t want to say goodbye.

I don’t have much but I’ll do something. It’s in memory of a good dog, Fred, who was part Lab. We think the other half was Bassett Hound. Fred was a good dog, named for Jerry Reed’s dog in Smokey and the Bandit.
