They cancelled “Whose Line is it Anyway?”!!! One of the few shows I ALWAYS try to watch. Becuase its timeslot moves so much lately, I missed a lot of last season. They had a great slot (Mon b4 MNF). Then it dissapeared!
Let’s be honest, it had started to get kinda repetitive. The well was running dry.
That said, they’ve used it a couple of times recently to fill holes in the schedule (after the Little League World Series final, when they decided not to show Alias, for one.)
ABC is run by a bunch of chimps. They can run 80,000,000,000 commercials for “10-8: Officers on Duty” but they can’t run a promo for Alias occasionally? You own ESPN, dipsticks. Guys 18-35 watch ESPN all the time. Guys 18-35 are the target audience for Alias. Show a few less commercials for Threat Matrix and 10-8, and get some Alias promotion out there, especially if you aren’t happy with the ratings.
Sorry about the mini-hijack, but ABC’s mis-management is a pet peeve of mine.
I think it’s lind of wierd that they will still be showing that John Ritter show.
Could it suck anymore?
erictelevision,WLIIA? had been airing in reruns on ABC Family fairly regularly for a while, don’t know if it’s still on there or not, but surely they’ll air reruns of it some more at some point since it has Drew Carey and pals. Hell, they still air reruns of every damn short-lived series and idiotic TV or straight-to-video movie the accursed Olsen twins ever did.
But I have to agree with brianjedi ABC does give Alias shitty promotion unless it’s sweeps time, the show wins an award, or if Jennifer Garner’s wardrobe that week is extra skimpy (and I thank them for the heads-up when they do). Since it has lots of buzz around it, a key core demographic, it’s an expensive show to produce, and they just signed Garner to a fairly long-term contract you’d think they might want to get they’re money’s worth by trying to get more people to watch on a regular basis.
I’ll be glad when all those 10-8 commercials go away as well, probably once the show gets cancelled in 6-8 weeks. I just wish they’d take all those stupid “the return of TGIF” promos and ads for It’s all Relative with them. No I won’t be watching your pathetic warmed over sitcoms on Friday night, ABC, even though I have no social life lately and will probably be home. And I won’t watch IAR or as I want to call it “Worn-out Unfunny Stereotype Theatre”.
And I don’t want to even get started right now on how much I hate Jimmy Kimmel and his nepotism TV welfare program.
Forgive me, I haven’t had my morning coffee.
NBC does this with ER, too. I think that it is because these shows already have a strong following and good ratings. The networks probably feel that they can use their advertising money on promoting the newest shit sitcom of the season, etc.
Still pisses me off, though, since I’d like a little taste before the new season starts!
Widdershirts-Discovered it on Family while in hospital awhile back. Always watch for CLASSIC moments! (and there are MANY!)
[bart simpson paraphrased]
When will you learn that ABC’s TGIF is just filler between NBC’s Must See TV Thursdays and CBS’s Saturday Crap-o-rama?

I thought the show stunk to high heavens!
Well, anything that can keep Alias off the air has my vote.
I’ve never even seen Alias.
Them’s fighting words. Alias is pretty much the only show I watch every time its on. Jennifer Garner’s a hottie, and the writing is actually really good.
Well, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. But your use of the word “actually” is insufficient to convince me, i’m afraid.
