The geniuses at ABC have decided to not produce a full 22-episode run of Karen Sisco and to delay airing the six remaining episodes until Spring. Apparently, the ABC executives felt that they had so much other superior programming, such as Celebrity Mole, that they just didn’t have room in their schedule
for KS.
This is like the stupidest decision that they could possibly have made, so I guess I shouldn’t be suprised that they did it. If I remember correctly, these are the same bozos that cancelled Philly two years ago.
Here are my guesses as to their reasons for putting KS on hold:
Not enough car chases.
Not enough bikinis.
It’s not like Law and Order (20 minutes of lectures every week about issues such as gays, rape, abortion, racism, etc. etc. etc. etc…)
It’s not like CSI
It’s not a sitcom
Reality shows are much cheaper to produce.
I thought this show had a nice, relaxing blend of humor and escapism along with plots that were entertaining without being too gory or serious. Am I the only one who enjoyed this show and found it to be a nice change of pace?
Damn. I liked that show. The opening credits alone made the show worthwhile. The relationship between Karen and her dad was one of the most interesting in recent television history.
I always said “Karen Sisco” should have been paired with “Alias” as an Ass-Kicking Women block on Sunday nights. Too bad the dipsticks at ABC don’t have my programming savvy.
Damn. This happens to just about every new show on a network that I latch onto every year. I suppose Arrested Development is next. Go ahead Fox, make my day…
Outside of Alias I think this is the only other show on ABC I watch anymore.
Until Arrested Development came along this was the only new show this season that I enjoyed and stuck with, Brotherhood of Poland, NH didn’t last long enough and came on opposite KS to boot. I was glad to see another series based on Elmore Leonard works after they got rid Maximum Bob several years back.
